Bible Text: Isaiah 9:6 (NLT);John 14:27 (NLT) |

Series:

The word peace is used throughout the New Testament declaring Gods desire to live in a harmonious relationship with humanity. Angels proclaim “Glory to God in the Highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward all.” In the gospel of John, Jesus reminds us he has left a peace that passes all understanding the world. And yet, still 2000 years later we seem to struggle with this notion of peace on earth. The news this morning is about clashes from the middle east to New York City. We don’t have to watch the news to see that there is violence and conflict in our own neighborhoods and even in our families, not to mention those of us struggle with finding a peace within. So is peace really possible? And what did Jesus mean when he talks about a peace that passes all understating? On Sunday we will Pause in Peace and take an in-depth look at peace in the world and our lives.
