Through gifts of time, treasure and talent, Gardeners help make the area more sustainable and live out the mission to transform through the power of love.
Our Outreach Projects include those listed below.
2018 Big/Little Gives have been selected. Check back in late 2018 for an update on the new process for 2019 grants. Each month, The Garden shares $1000 with a deserving non-profit organization. The organizations help others find and create meaning in their life and community. They may provide teaching opportunities, build relationships and confidence, or support and encourage independence and self-sufficiency. The Outreach Team gathers ideas from its volunteers, church members, and from organizations that reach out to the team.
2018 Big/Little Gives have been selected. Check back in late 2018 for an update on the new process for 2019 grants. The Garden recognizes that simple gifts can make a big impact. These Little Gives also allows those that cannot give a lot the opportunity to help others. Once per quarter, The Garden collects small everyday items that are important in the lives of folks in need, such as Play Doh for children at a local community center, toiletries for a food pantry, or books for a lending library for children.
2018 Service Projects have been selected. Check back in late 2018 for an update on the new process for 2019 grants. Garden volunteers organize and fulfill service projects for various non-profit organizations. One project dear to The Garden is The Garden’s Garden, a vegetable garden that supplies fresh produce to a local food pantry. Other projects include Habitat for Humanity builds and food pantry assistance. In conjunction with the Share the Love campaign, adults were encouraged to spend 100 minutes volunteering this year. One individual volunteers as a Child Advocate, while another couple makes sack lunches once a week to deliver to the homeless.
