How Does Your Garden Grow-Tilling The Soil
Bible Text: Hosea 10:12 (NIV), Matthew 8 (The Message) | Speaker: Rev. Dr. Carolyn Scanlan-Holmes | Series: How Does Your Garden Grow | We are blessed to have many gardeners at The Garden. So, if I were to ask the question; “How does your garden grow?” folks like Bev and Mary could tell me how The Garden’s gardens grow. They could tell me about planting at certain times of the year, watering in certain ways, fertilizing with certain substances. I could go to Realm and look at videos that will teach me about weeding and harvesting. I could look at the volunteer sign-ups and see the names of the different Gardeners who have worked the gardens this summer. I could even go to the food pantry and find out just how many fruits and vegetables were grown and how many people were fed. But even with all that, in the end, none of us really knows how our garden grows. We do what we know and, amazingly enough, plants produce and people are fed.
This week at the Garden we start a 4-week series where we contemplate the question “How Does Your Garden Grow?” Exploring how God works in us and through us, how the spirit moves us, and how following Jesus’ teachings we plant seeds in ways that transform the world with the unconditional love of God. Join us this week as we consider the question “How Does Your Garden Grow?
