It’s a Jungle Out There

Passage: Matthew 4:1 – 11
Service Type:

Bible Text: Matthew 4:1 – 11 | Speaker: Rev. Dr. Carolyn Scanlan-Holmes | “It’s a jungle out there” is most often used when we consider stepping into a threatening environment where it might be difficult to survive. It is most often said in jest to someone who is starting a new job or adventure they don’t know much about. Yet sometimes this statement is spot on because there are times this conditional world can be dangerous and scary. On Sunday we are going to look at Jesus’ trek into the wilderness and his struggle with temptation. We will see how he makes a way for all of us to turn over our need for immediate comfort and gratification and fill our lives with divine purpose and meaning.
