Race Matters: The Apple Doesn’t Fall To Far From The Tree (Part 1)
You have heard the saying, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Well, it’s exactly what I said when I saw the photo of Taylor Hall in the Indianapolis Star standing on a car, holding a megaphone, and rallying the crowd. I was taken back to a photo I had seen of her grandfather, Rev. Dr. Kent Millard, from his days marching with Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil rights movement in the 1960s. Clearly, the passion and desire to share in the transformation of the world to a place that is welcoming and free for all people is a passion and cause that lives from generation to generation.
Gardeners, we have the honor of hearing from both Taylor and Kent as they explore “Race Matters” in a special worship service. Join us for a 2-part series “Race Matters” on Sundays, June 28, and July 5.
