Zoomed Out – Zoned In
If you would have asked me back in February, how many video conference meetings I have had, I would have said maybe four or five in the past six months. Now my daily routine consists of one video meeting after another -- all day long!!! It's fascinating how tiring this can be. “Screen fatigue” is a real condition, and it happens because we have to use a whole different set of communication and connection skills. Those skills are requiring us to spend long hours online -- in meetings, sending emails, or looking at reports -- versus when we used to meet in person.
Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the technical resources that have helped us keep The Garden ministry going. I am also very thankful that I have had a way to connect with my family in the US and the UK during this time. Having the ability to see the grandchildren and our parents on a screen is simply amazing!
But there has to be a way to find a balance. If we spend too much time inputting, and no time decompressing, it can become overwhelming. Join us Sunday, as we explore how our faith can guide us in finding a balance for work, play, and rest.
