Inspired By Living

March 29, 2020
We are using Rachel Held Evan’s book and study called “Inspired” to help guide us through the Lenten journey this year.  Rachel, like so many of us, grew up with a particular understanding of the Bible that allowed faithful readers to use the Bible as a tool to condemnation and justify harmful behavior like racism and bigotry.
When two or more people toast together before drinking, we often say “Here’s mud in your eye.” It’s a wish of ‘Good Health,’ ‘Good Fortune,’ and ‘Cheers.’ It sounds negative; however, it has a positive meaning. On Sunday we will look at the biblical text from which this saying has its origins. Join us Sunday for “Here’s Mud in Your Eye.”
