On June 28, 1969 members of the LGBTQ community rioted following a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village in Manhattan.  This riot and further protesters the following nights were the watershed moment into the modern LGBTQ rights movement and the impetus for what is now commonly known as PRIDE month.
The Garden recently applied for a Lilly Grant that is designed to help the church in engaging young adults in the community.  When seeking someone to head up the grant effort we asked Gardener Perry Hammock.  On Sunday Perry will reflect on his recent experience working with young adults and his passion for the Garden to find ways to share our message with up and coming generations.
