Each quarter, The Garden serves at Soup’s On, a partnership with Roberts Park United Methodist Church. This ministry helps feed those in need in downtown Indianapolis.
You can participate in a couple of ways:
- Serve sack lunches at Roberts Park Church
- Prepare sack lunches, at home, ahead of time to supply Robert’s Park Church
Due to COVID-19 and the safety precautions, Roberts Park is asking volunteers to prepare complete sack lunches, at home, including: a sandwich, chips, and cookies (cookies can be homemade).
The Garden has committed to making (only) 100 lunches for each service date. These lunches are prepared by volunteers, at their homes, ahead of our service date. Then, the lunches are delivered to:
- Stephanie Ferhaber’s home (near 86th/Meridian St.) between the hours of 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday evening (prior to Sunday’s service day).
- Robert’s Park UMC (near Alabama/Mass Ave.) between the hours of 11:00 AM-12:30 PM on Sunday (the day of our service).
Up to six volunteers can serve at Roberts Park on the day of the event. If you are interested in serving, please choose the service date you’d like to serve.
IMPORTANT: Please do not provide lunches without making an RSVP to this event and entering the number of lunches you are committing to prepare. Your intentions to provide are appreciated, but too many/unplanned lunches present a problem at Robert’s Park for their well-organized system.
