Camptown

This weekend at The Garden, we head out to the great outdoors (metaphorically) and welcome our third quarter Big Give recipient, Camp Town, a program designed to get kids out into the great outdoors. Camptown's mission is to challenge, mentor, and teach youth about life through outdoor adventure and nature programs that help build confidence, character, and hope. Programs include a Natural Wonders Day Camp, Wilderness Adventures, Service Projects, Youth Leader Adventures, Spiritual Missions, plus programs for schools and for students with differing abilities. All Camptown staff are trained wilderness guides.

Also on Sunday, we will review a story from Genesis where God calls Abram out into the great outdoors to an adventure that would change his life forever. Join us Sunday for "Gone Camping!"

Let's Embark on an Adventure
By Betty Brandt March 12, 2025
A poignant blog post by Betty Brandt reflecting on a poem her father, James M. Buck, wrote to her in 1944 while stationed at Ft. McClellan, Alabama, during World War II. Betty shares her father’s love for poetry, his role as a unit scribe in Patton’s Army, and the heartfelt stories of camaraderie and survival among his fellow soldiers. Interweaving themes of love, storytelling, and faith, this post encourages readers to cherish and share their own family stories, creating connections filled with healing and sacred moments.
