Welcoming the Stranger

Who is My Neighbor? Part 3

In the library of biblical texts, you'll uncover a recurring motif, woven some 300 times with threads of wisdom about the sojourner, the outsider, the one who treads paths into lands unknown to them. These ancient words do more than merely acknowledge the existence of such individuals; they paint a vivid picture of our duties towards them. Here's a subtle clue for the curious heart: it's not about erecting barriers. Embracing the stranger is a sacred act, a testament of faith, where we are called to extend a hand of kindness, to offer solace to the widow and the orphan, to uplift the dispossessed and the overlooked, with the gentle touch of respect, dignity, and heartfelt empathy.

We invite you to gather with us this Sunday for a communal reflection on the grace of hospitality and compassion.
