My One Word

What Will Your One Word Be?

As we step into a new year, it's easy to get caught up in long lists of resolutions and grand plans for change. But what if there was a simpler way to focus our intentions and move forward with clarity?

Enter "My One Word," a practice that invites us to distill our hopes and aspirations for the coming year into a single, powerful word. The chosen word becomes a guiding, illuminating our path to help us navigate the year ahead.

At The Garden, we're embracing the "One Word" process one again after introducing. In 2024, our community word was "Hope", which served as our guiding star for 2024.

This Sunday, as we celebrate Epiphany and remember the Magi's journey following the star, we remember the power of light to lead us through darkness. We again seek the light that overcomes the darkness with "My One Word."

What will your "One Word" be for 2025? Choose a word that resonates with your soul, a word that inspires and motivates you. Let it be your guiding star throughout the year.

Let's Embark on an Adventure
By Betty Brandt March 12, 2025
A poignant blog post by Betty Brandt reflecting on a poem her father, James M. Buck, wrote to her in 1944 while stationed at Ft. McClellan, Alabama, during World War II. Betty shares her father’s love for poetry, his role as a unit scribe in Patton’s Army, and the heartfelt stories of camaraderie and survival among his fellow soldiers. Interweaving themes of love, storytelling, and faith, this post encourages readers to cherish and share their own family stories, creating connections filled with healing and sacred moments.
